Content differences

TEAS 7 has a dedicated English & Language Usage section; NLN folds vocabulary into Verbal.
NLN NEX Science covers general biology, chemistry, physics and earth science — wider but shallower than TEAS 7's A&P-heavy approach.
TEAS 7 includes ordered-response and multi-select items; NLN is straight multiple choice.
Both math sections cover pre-algebra and basic algebra.

Take whichever your target program requires. The vast majority of US nursing programs require the ATI TEAS 7. NLN NEX is most common at diploma programs and some traditional ADN programs in the Northeast. If both are accepted, take the TEAS 7 — the prep market is larger so practice resources are better.

Which is harder?

NLN NEX is slightly easier in length (10 fewer items, 44 fewer minutes) and has no specialised A&P emphasis — but its Science covers physics, which TEAS does not. If your physics is weak, TEAS 7 is easier. If your anatomy is weak, NLN is easier.
