Is TEAS 7 harder than TEAS 6?

Slightly. Science is harder because A&P went from ~33% to ~50% of the section. The other three sections feel similar in difficulty.

When did TEAS 7 replace TEAS 6?

ATI rolled TEAS 7 out on 3 June 2022. TEAS 6 was fully retired by the end of August 2022.

Are TEAS 6 scores still accepted?

Most programs only accept scores up to 24 months old, so TEAS 6 scores (last issued August 2022) are no longer valid for 2026 applications.

Do TEAS 6 study guides still work for TEAS 7?

For Math, Reading and English — largely yes. For Science — only partly. A TEAS 6 Science guide will under-prepare you for the heavier A&P weighting on TEAS 7.

What new question types did TEAS 7 add?

What's harder on TEAS 7

Science — A&P now dominates ~half the section.
Reading — Integration-of-Knowledge items (compare two passages or passage+graphic) are heavier.
Multi-select items penalise partial credit; you must pick every correct answer.
English picked up 9 more items, so its weight in composite went up.

What's easier (or unchanged) on TEAS 7

Math is essentially the same — pre-algebra and basic algebra, calculator allowed.
Total testing time didn't increase.
Reading lost 8 items, easing time pressure.

Can I still use TEAS 6 study materials?

For Math, Reading and English — mostly yes. For Science — only partly. TEAS 6 Science guides under-weight A&P, so use a 2024+ ATI TEAS 7 study guide instead.
